Quickstart

About fifteen minutes from sign-up to a first read. You need a second email address to apply with and a PDF résumé to attach.

Sign up#

Open /sign-up and give your name, your company name, an email and a password — or continue with Google or Microsoft, or ask for a sign-in link by email, and name the company on the screen after. The company name becomes the workspace's slug, the word in your public careers URL; change it later in Settings › Careers page.

The verification mail arrives before the workspace exists — the address is proved first, then the workspace is created. Open the link and you land in the app as its owner.

Post a job and publish it#

Open Jobs › New job. Only the title is required, but Requirements is the block that matters: one per line, because the read works through them one at a time and quotes the evidence it found for each. Three or four a résumé could plausibly answer is enough:

5+ years building and operating production servicesDeep Postgres familiarity — schema design, query plans, migrationsHas been on-call for a service they wrote

Publish job puts the posting live at /careers/<slug>/<job id>. The job's Details tab has the link to copy.

Apply to your own job#

Open that link in a private window, so you arrive signed out exactly as a candidate does, and apply with your second email address and the PDF. Write real sentences in the answers: the read quotes what the candidate wrote, so three words produce a thin read. The PDF matters too — the text extractor only reads PDFs, and a quote it cannot locate in the source is dropped rather than shown.

Read the application and decide#

The application lands on the job's Pipeline board as a card in Applied, showing ·· for its score until the read finishes. Click it to open the packet: the candidate's own material on the left, the read on the right — a score, a line per requirement with the quote that earned its verdict, and findings.

Decide from the packet header: Advance → for the next stage, or Reject…, which asks first because it can email the candidate. Either way the move is written to the ledger with your name on it.

If the packet says no screening model is configured, everything above still works — there is no read. Screening turns one on.
